Girder transporters, alternatively named long beam carriers or bridge segment haulers, are engineered for precast beam delivery. Standard units handle beams measuring 20 to 100 meters long with payloads between 30 and 400 tons, compatible with both box girders and T-beams. We also offer heavy-duty variants capable of moving bridge components weighing more than 1000 tons, ideal for railway and high-speed rail construction sites. Customized support frames can be manufactured to fit girders of all distinct profiles and dimensions.

Classified as split-combination transport equipment, long beam carriers secure ultra-long cargo by supporting both ends of the load. They deliver optimal efficiency and economic benefits when transporting oversize and irregular shipments, including structural girders, extended steel frameworks, lengthy steel pipelines, precast concrete beams and large prefabricated bridge sections.

Most clients already possess their own tractor units. Shandong SHIYUN can fabricate perfectly matched semi-trailer assemblies to pair with existing prime movers. We are able to mount load-bearing rotary turntables onto customers’ current tractors and supply matched rear steering dollies as supporting equipment. A compact auxiliary diesel engine can also be installed to enable independent manual steering control.

Rubber-tyred beam transporters are the premium dedicated machinery for moving precast girders during bridge construction. They are primarily used for on-site bridge girder erection, as well as long-distance haulage between remote precast beam yards and bridge construction locations.

This transporter system is composed of two standalone travelling units: a main prime mover and a rear steering auxiliary dolly. Thanks to its customized standard wheelbase, it is fully compatible with the transportation of T-type girders, box girders and 45-degree inclined girders. This equipment helps clients cut capital costs, streamline transit procedures, and dramatically save construction period, labor input and material expenses.

Key Benefits: It supports overall length adjustment to adapt to girders of various sizes and bridge specifications, and comes with a minimal turning radius for flexible operation. Designed with a spanning pole-style bearing structure, the transporter features a low center of gravity and superior driving stability.

Features:

• Adopting a compact body structure, the vehicle is not limited by narrow passages such as tunnels and culverts, delivering excellent trafficability. The whole transporter consists of two independent operating units: the prime mover (truck head with turntable )and the rear steering dolly, delivering better overall performance and running stability.The prime mover serves mainly to provide driving power.The steering dolly follows the prime mover to steer, enabling flexible transportation such as turning and passing obstacles.Customers can use their existing prime mover without purchasing an additional truck tractor.

• The steering dolly is available with 2-axle, 3-axle, 4-axle, line axle or modular axle options.The number of axles can be customized according to the customer’s different load capacity requirements.
• Besides standard through axles, line axles and modular axles are upgraded options with higher load capacity. Common specifications include 2-line 4-axle, 3-line 6-axle, 4-line 8-axle and more modular axle combinations. They are generally equipped with hydraulic steering brackets.The front unit can be matched with a low-bed semi-trailer fitted with steering brackets.

• The steering dolly is steered by a diesel engine. It is equipped with a co‑driver’s cabin and can also be remotely operated via wireless remote control.The whole vehicle is easy to operate, with flexible and responsive driving and steering performance.
• The driven end (trailer dolly) is equipped with a single-cylinder diesel engine, which only provides power for hydraulic steering without driving function, featuring flexible follow-up steering performance.The rear steering dolly can be equipped with either leaf spring suspension or rigid suspension, and can be customized according to customers’ requirements.
• It boasts superior overall performance with optional rigid suspension or leaf spring suspension. It features good driving stability, strong anti-rollover capacity and large load capacity.Adopting multi-axle independent suspension with automatic leveling system, it keeps the beam horizontal on rough roads and effectively prevents overturning.
• Girder beam transporter adopts full-hydraulic steering with synchronous steering of the main and driven vehicles. Even with a long vehicle body, it can achieve small-radius turning and move flexibly across construction sites.
• Girder bridge transport truck adopting a heavy-load bearing design, the machine features a high overall safety factor and ensures reliable and safe operation. The frame adopts an improved processing technology with high dimensional accuracy.
• Bridge transport trailer features split flexible structure, large load capacity, excellent off-road performance and stable running. It enables convenient beam feeding operation with high safety and easy maintenance, serving as the core special equipment for modern bridge construction transportation.
• Girder bridge transport trailer is equipped with various types of turntables and support rods to stabilize bridge components during transportation.
• The steering dolly is equipped with a triangular drawbar. It can be directly coupled to the prime mover when empty, facilitating transportation and site transfer.
• The rear steering dolly is designed for an extremely large load capacity. If the customer’s truck head has a relatively low load rating, a front dolly can be additionally equipped to bear the front load and make the overall force distribution more uniform.
• Girder transporter trailer is suitable for transporting bridge components, cement blocks, cement piles, as well as large and ultra-long tank bodies. It can handle a wide range of over-length and over-weight cargo.We can design custom turntables to fit arc structures with different diameters. This makes the binding tighter and more reliable, and ensures more stable transportation.
• If the customer is located in a rainy country or an area with a long rainy season, an enclosed cabin can be custom-built to protect the driver from rain.

SHIPMENT

The length, width, overall dimensions and load capacity of the bridge girder trailer can all be customized.
